Bear Creek is located in Beautiful Big Bear, California. It's a tailwater that flows out of Big Bear Lake, year round. Bear Creek holds beautiful Native Wild Brown and Rainbow trout, with fish up to 20". It's a fly fishing only stream that offers great dry fly fishing. It's not uncommon to have 20 fish days.
Since Bear Creek is so secluded, it takes about an hour to get in from Hwy 330. We can squeeze a day trip in, but we recommend our Bear Creek Special package! This Package is a 2 day, 1 night, fishing and camping adventure. It begins early in the morning, on a 1 hour 4x4 drive on mountain dirt roads. Once we arrive at the creek, we set up camp and then start fly fishing with light action 1-2 weight fly rods, by SAGE. After a day of fishing, we relax by our camp fire, and enjoy a delicous BBQ. We wake up early and start hiking up or down stream, searching for the big browns. Hopefully, we can put you on a nice 20" brown trout. Then we pack up and start heading home.
